Rookie Don Zimmerman, filling in for injured Ben Hawkins, caught a Roman Gabriel pass on the 2-yard line and fought his way into the end zone for the winning TD with no time left on the clock. Harold Carmichael had caught his second TD pass just a few moments earlier as the Eagles rallied from a 24-13 deficit. Jim Hart hit Ahmad Rashad with two TD passes for the Cardinals who gambled and lost on a fourth-down situation in the last minute, giving up the ball for the Eagles' winning march. Carmichael had 12 receptions and moved into the lead among NFC receivers.
