The Rams opened up a 10-0 lead in the first 11 minutes on a FG by David Ray and a touchdown by Tony Baker but an interception by Falcons' safety Ray Brown of a John Hadl pass led to the first of Mike-Mayer's successful kicks. Mike-Mayer's 15 points vaulted him into the NFC scoring lead.
