Miami clinched its third straight AFC East title despite outstanding running performances by Buffalo's O. J. Simpson and Jim Braxton. Simpson rushed 20 times for 120 yards (1,323 yards for the first 10 games) and Braxton carried 17 times for 119 yards. Larry Csonka scored the first touchdown for Miami after an 80-yard drive in the first quarter and Bob Griese hit Paul Warfield with a TD pass for the second. The shutout was the second straight for the Dolphins' "No-Name Defense."
