Second-year quarterback Gary Huff, who won the job from Bobby Douglass, completed 10 passes for 183 yards, including two to wide receiver Charley Wade for 73 and 43 yards that set up both Bears' touchdowns. Carl Garrett scored from the one for Chicago's initial touchdown and Huff passed nine yards to Ike Hill for the other. The Bears' defense sacked Detroit passer Bill Munson five times as the Bears ended a six-game losing hangover from 1973.
