The Dolphins rebounded from an opening day defeat to knock off the Bills with the help of two TD passes by Bob Griese, set up by recovered Buffalo fumbles. Mercury Morris and Nick Buoniconti, who missed the opener, returned and Morris gained 88 yards on 13 carries, scoring on a 17-yard run. O. J. Simpson returned after sitting out the second half of the last game and was held to 63 yards on 15 carries, fumbling twice. Ahmad Rashad recovered one of O. J.'s fumbles for a Buffalo TD. Garo Yepremian's 22-yard FG iced it with 1:06 to go.
