Interceptions in the first five minutes by linebacker Skip Vanderbundt and cornerback Jimmy Johnson were turned into touchdowns by the 49ers, who won their second straight Western Division game on the road. Joe Reed hit Dan Abramowicz for a 13-yard score following the first interception, and Larry Schreiber's one-yard touchdown capped a 39-yard march following Johnson's steal.
