The Giants scored two touchdowns in the space of 64 seconds in the second period and their defense held the Cowboys scoreless until the final 11 seconds. Doug Kotar's two-yard touchdown followed a 50-yard pass from Norm Snead to Bob Grim, and after New York recovered a Dallas fumble on the ensuing kickoff, Snead threw 14 yards to Joe Dawkins for another score. The Giants intercepted three passes, recovered two fumbles and sacked Dallas passer Roger Staubach six times in giving Bill Arnsparger his first regular season victory as a head coach.
