The Raiders defeated the Steelers 17-0 as Pittsburgh suffered its first shutout loss since Nov. 15, 1964. Oakland's defense limited Joe Gilliam to 8 completions in 31 attempts, intercepted him three times, and recovered one fumble. The Raiders also sacked Gilliam twice. Ron Smith's punt returns of 47 and 26 yards led to Ken Stabler's one-yard touchdown and his 19-yard TD pass to Cliff Branch.
