Minnesota won its fourth straight game on Fred Cox's 27-yard field goal with one second remaining. Minnesota had fallen behind 21-20, with 2:26 remaining, when Fran Tarkenton directed a drive from the Vikings' 22 to set up the Cox field goal -- his third of the game and 236th of his career. Cox replaced Lou Groza as runner-up to George Blanda, who has kicked the most field goals in NFL history. Chuck Foreman scored twice for Minnesota on passes from Tarkenton that covered 66 and 13 yards, while catching five for 131 yards and rushing for 72.
