Making his first start of the season, Redskin quarterback Sonny Jurgensen capped an outstanding performance by completing six of seven passes in the final two minutes to produce the victory. Jurgensen's six-yard scoring pass to running back Larry Smith with 16 seconds remaining climaxed a 60-yard drive. Jurgensen completed 26 of 39 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns. It was the 25th time that the 40-year-old Jurgensen had passed for more than 300 yards in a game.
