All NFL game summaries for 10/27/1974:
Tony Greene's sixth interception set up Buffalo's only touchdown by Larry Watkins which, combined with three field goals by John Leypoldt, helped the Bills down the Bears in an interconference game. O. J. Simpson was limited to 62 yards, 26 of them on his first three carries. Gary Huff completed 16 of 36 for 204 yards, six each to Carl Garrett and Charley Wade, but couldn't crack a Bills' pass defense that had allowed only three TD passes.

Denver opened up a 14-0 lead on scoring passes by Charley Johnson to Riley Odoms and Jerry Simmons before Sipe started to work. A 72-yard punt return by Greg Pruitt set up the winning touchdown with 2:53 to play. Don Cockroft's first-down pass on a fake punt sparked the drive to Sipe's first score. Drew Pearson, who earlier caught a 32-yard touchdown pass from Roger Staubach to give Dallas a 14-0 lead, threw a 46-yard scoring pass to Golden Richards in the third period after taking a lateral from Staubach. The Pearson pass provided a cushion for the Cowboys because Giants defensive end Roy Hilton had recovered a fumble and dashed 71 yards to score earlier in the period. Craig Morton, who was traded from Dallas to New York six days before the game, completed 11 passes against his former teammates, but was intercepted three times while playing the final three periods.

Lawrence McCutcheon boosted his league-leading rushing total to 649 yards by running for 139 and two fourth-quarter touchdowns that sunk the Jets. New York led 13-6 early in the final period before McCutcheon raced 23 yards into the end zone. Charlie Stukes intercepted a Joe Namath pass to set up McCutcheon's second score. In the closing seconds Namath was intercepted again, this time by Steve Preece, to snuff out the last threat. Namath completed 19 of 32 and the Jets scored twice on the ground with Mike Adamle and Emerson Boozer going over.

After the 49ers had taken a 24-14 lead early in the third period, the Raiders pulled within 24-21 on Pete Banaszak's one-yard touchdown, then turned a pair of San Francisco errors into a pair of decisive touchdowns. George Atkinson's fumble recovery set up a Ken Stabler-to-Dave Casper go-ahead touchdown pass of two yards, and Harold Hart grabbed a 49ers' fumble out of the air and dashed 40 yards for the final score.

The Cardinals winged to their seventh straight victory and increased their NFC Eastern Division lead on a pair of long early touchdowns -- a 53-yard interception return by Roger Wehrli and a 52-yard Jim Hart-to-Earl Thomas pass -- and a game-ending, 13-play drive that ran out the clock after Washington had pulled within the final margin. Hart, who completed 15 of 19 passes for 200 yards to take the NFC lead in passing, hit Donny Anderson for the 17-yard deciding touchdown late in the third period.
