Don Nottingham and rookie Benny Malone each ran for over 100 yards in relief of the injured Larry Csonka and Jim Kiick in a 371-yard Dolphins' offensive effort against the Colts. Nottingham stepped in when Csonka wrenched an ankle and carried 19 times for 102 yards and one score. Malone, replacing Kiick who had 12 yards on six carries, rambled 104 yards on 19 carries and one TD. The lone Baltimore score came on an option pass from Don McCauley to Glenn Doughty after rookie Fred Cook recovered a fumble.
