Brian Sipe, making his second appearance of the year, replaced Mike Phipps in the final period and scored twice in the Browns' come-from-behind victory over the Broncos. Denver opened up a 14-0 lead on scoring passes by Charley Johnson to Riley Odoms and Jerry Simmons before Sipe started to work. A 72-yard punt return by Greg Pruitt set up the winning touchdown with 2:53 to play. Don Cockroft's first-down pass on a fake punt sparked the drive to Sipe's first score. Otis Armstrong gained 142 yards for the Broncos.
