The Giants won the toss at the outset of the overtime and drove to the Jets' 25 but, on fourth down, Pete Gogolak missed a 42-yard field goal attempt. Namath's touchdown pass climaxed a 75-yard drive. The Jets tied the game in regulation on a three-yard run by Namath in the fourth period.
