The New York Jets won their fourth straight with superior efforts by John Riggins who scored three touchdowns, and Joe Namath who completed 17 of 27 passes for 254 yards and one touchdown. Rich Caster caught seven for 137 yards and Pat Leahy kicked two field goals. San Diego's only offensive punch came from rookie Don Woods who ran for 142 yards -- his sixth 100-yard day -- and the pass catching of Gary Garrison who snagged four for 109 yards. Jesse Freitas was the Chargers' quarterback for the injured Dan Fouts.
