Emmitt Thomas, the AFC interception leader with 12, provided the Chiefs' main spark with a 73-yard touchdown run after picking off a Tarkenton pass. It was the longest interception return of the season in the NFL. Rookie Sam McCullum of the Vikings caught six passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
