Following consecutive losses to the Giants and Bears, the Eagles put together a strong running attack, a pair of Roman Gabriel touchdown passes and a smothering defense to hand the Redskins their initial loss. Tom Sullivan rushed for 95 of Philadelphia's 213 yards on the ground. Gabriel tossed a 62-yard touchdown pass to Harold Carmichael and a 27-yarder to Charlie Smith. Bill Bradley's third and fourth interceptions of the season highlighted the defense which forced six turnovers.
