After falling behind 21-20 as the Jets converted a blocked punt, recovered on the Vikings' 8, into a touchdown, Minnesota retaliated as Joe Blahak blocked a New York punt out of the end zone for a safety and 22-21 lead. On the ensuing possession, the Vikings drove 57 yards in nine plays with Chuck Foreman scoring his third touchdown from the 4, to clinch their fourth straight victory. Foreman rushed 96 yards and caught nine passes for 105. The game marked Minnesota's 200th in the NFL.
