The Dolphins took charge of the ball in the second half, grinding out a victory with Don Nottingham, Norm Bulaich, and Mercury Morris doing the heavy work in a 207-yard ground attack. Bob Griese hit Nat Moore with a 13-yard touchdown pass and Garo Yepremian added his fifth field goal in five attempts this season. The Eagles took an early lead on a Roman Gabriel pass to Charlie Smith and a Horst Muhlmann field goal but didn't score again until the closing minutes with another Gabriel pass. It was the 131st coaching triumph for Miami coach Don Shula, moving him into fifth place in the all-time NFL standings.
