Mike Livingston led the Chiefs to their second straight win with a 60-yard touchdown pass to rookie tight end Walter White and two field goals by Jan Stenerud. Livingston completed 14 of 23 for 224 yards and White, picked up after he was cut by the Steelers, caught two for 105 yards. Wilbur Young had four of the Chiefs' five sacks of Charger quarterbacks. San Diego lost the services of Don Woods, who set a rookie rushing record of 1,162 yards in 1974, when he suffered torn ligaments in his left knee. Backup quarterback Jesse Freitas' touchdown pass to Sam Scarber put the Chargers out front 10-9 before Stenerud's final field goal, 27 yards, won it.
