Pete Banaszak scored twice on short plunges and Ken Stabler threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Cliff Branch as the Raiders snapped a two-game losing streak by shutting out the Chargers for the second time. The Raiders, who held San Diego to minus 22 yards passing in a 6-0 victory at San Diego, limited them to 17 yards passing in the rematch. San Diego gave up two safeties when punter Dennis Partee and quarterback Jesse Freitas were downed in the end zone. Marv Hubbard returned to action for the first time since his injury in the opener. Bobby Douglass relieved Freitas as the Charger quarterback in his first AFC appearance.
