The surging Oilers moved into a triple tie with Cincinnati and Pittsburgh for the AFC Central lead with the help of two touchdown passes by Dan Pastorini to the fleet Ken Burrough for 77 and 57 yards. Bob Atkins' interception of a Mike Livingston pass with 4:53 to go and Curley Culp's recovery of a fumbled snap with 1:17 remaining in the game saved the day for the Oilers, who won their fourth in a row. Burrough caught seven passes for 177 yards, top yardage in the first half of the AFC season. It was the Oilers' 12th win in 15 games since Curley Culp joined the club last season.
