Fran Tarkenton, who completed 24 of 30 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns, threw a pair of fourth-period scoring passes of 19 yards to John Gilliam and 10 to Chuck Foreman as the Vikings came from behind to register their seventh straight victory and remain the NFL's only undefeated team midway through the season. The win was Minnesota's 10th in a row over two years. Foreman rushed for 72 yards and caught nine passes for 93. Gilliam's seven catches netted 98 yards. Tarkenton's touchdown passes lifted his career total to 280, just 10 off John Unitas' NFL record 290.
