After a 7-7 first half, the Dolphins struck for two touchdowns in the third period on a 59-yard pass from Bob Griese to Norm Bulaich and a 50-yard punt return by rookie Freddie Solomon. The victory moved the Dolphins two full games ahead of the Bills in the AFC East and left the Jets in last place. Joe Namath was limited to 11 completions in 28 attempts for 140 yards and one TD and was sacked three times and intercepted twice by the Miami defense. Griese hit with 9 of 15 for 223 yards and two TDs to Bulaich.
