For the second week in a row George Blanda won a sudden death overtime game for Oakland with a field goal. Blanda's 36-yarder as time ran out at 15:00 of the extra period clinched the Raiders' eighth division title in nine years, assuring a playoff spot for the AFC West champions. Blanda's 18-yard field goal with three seconds to go sent the game into overtime after two late scoring drives, directed by rookie Steve Bartkowski, put the Falcons out front 34-31 with 1:10 left in regulation time. Ken Stabler threw four touchdown passes, three to Cliff Branch in the first quarter. Pete Banaszak rushed for 116 yards. Falcons' punter John James booted a 75-yard punt in the game, the NFL's longest in 1975.
