A 97-yard march in the waning moments, climaxed by Greg Pruitt's eight-yard touchdown run, enabled the Browns to win their second straight after dropping the first nine games. The Browns trailed 16-3 going into the final quarter but Mike Phipps hit Reggie Rucker with a touchdown pass, then directed the winning drive. The margin of victory turned out to be an aborted extra point try after the Saints' second touchdown when a low center snap squirted through holder Archie Manning's hands on the muddy field.
