Jim Turner's 25-yard field goal at 4:13 of the sudden death overtime won for the Broncos after he missed a 23-yarder with four seconds left in regulation time. It was the second overtime game the winless Chargers had dropped, both by the same score. Denver piled up 328 yards rushing, including 132 by Jon Keyworth, and held San Diego to three first downs (none in the first half although they led 10-7). Mike Fuller had a 42-yard punt return touchdown for San Diego and the defense intercepted six passes, three by Chris Fletcher.
