Earl Morrall came off the bench in place of injured Bob Griese and completed his first 13 passes while leading the Dolphins to a victory over the Patriots that left them one game in front of Baltimore and Buffalo in the AFC East. Morrall hit with 14 of 17 for 135 yards and one touchdown before he left the game in the third quarter with a damaged knee. Don Nottingham scored his twelfth rushing touchdown and Norm Bulaich caught the 41-year-old Morrall's TD pass for his eighth touchdown.
