Mike Boryla threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Harold Carmichael in the first quarter, carried the ball over from the one in the fourth period, and Horst Muhlmann kicked field goals of 44 and 38 yards in between to give the Eagles their first win of the season and Dick Vermeil his first pro coaching victory. The Philadelphia defense held the Giants to 59 net yards in the first half and shut out the New Yorkers until Craig Morton tossed a seven-yard touchdown pass to Walker Gillette with 1:15 left in the game.
