A stingy Denver defense gave up only 185 yards while its offense rolled up a club record 543 yards in defeating the Jets for the fifth straight time. Four different running backs scored for Denver including Otis Armstrong, who rushed for 94 yards on 17 carries. Broncos' quarterback Steve Ramsey picked up 192 yards through the air and hit Haven Moses for the only TD pass of the day. Rick Upchurch gained 138 yards on rushes, returns and a reception. His 24-yard punt return and 53-yard catch both led to scores in Denver's 23-point second quarter.
