Rae, substituting for injured Ken Stabler, hit Branch in the end zone on his first NFL pass and completed 12 of his next 21 for 170 yards. Dan Pastorini brought the Oilers back to within one point on a four-yard pass to Mack Alston with 7:26 remaining after the Raiders twice stopped Houston at the 1-yard line.
