Jan Stenerud's 34-yard field goal with 12 seconds left in overtime gave the Chiefs their second straight win and first over Miami since 1969. Garo Yepremian tied the game with nine seconds left in regulation on a 27-yard field goal after Henry Marshall gave Kansas City a 17-14 lead on a 59-yard end-around TD run with 1:45 left. Tim Collier recovered a Norm Bulaich fumble in the end zone to stop a possible Dolphins' scoring drive in the overtime.
