Mike Barnes blocked Garo Yepremian's extra point attempt after the Dolphins, trailing 17-10 with 1:52 remaining, stormed back on a 69-yard drive to come within one point of the Colts on Benny Malone's three-yard touchdown with 12 seconds left in the game. Bert Jones put Baltimore ahead 14-3 with 1:22 left in the half on a 25-yard touchdown pass to Raymond Chester but Bob Griese cut the margin to four points 40 seconds later on a 20-yard TD pass to Jim Mandich. Lydell Mitchell rushed for 80 yards in the game to go over the 1,000-yard mark for the second straight year.
