Roger Staubach passed for 259 yards and a third-quarter touchdown to Butch Johnson as the Cowboys took their fifth straight game from the Eagles. Roman Gabriel hit Charlie Smith with a 20-yard touchdown pass to cut the Dallas lead to two points with just over five minutes left in the second quarter, but Efren Herrera gave the Cowboys a 12-7 halftime lead with a 21-yard field goal as time ran out in the half. Aaron Kyle got Dallas's second blocked punt safety in two weeks when he blocked a second quarter Spike Jones punt and it rolled out of the end zone.
