Quarterback Craig Penrose, making his first NFL start, guided the Broncos to their eighth win of the season and a first-ever season series sweep over the Chiefs. Penrose threw touchdown passes to Haven Moses and Riley Odoms, giving the Broncos a 14-10 lead early in the second quarter. Mike Livingston put the Chiefs on top 16-14 five seconds before the half on a one-yard run, but Jack Dolbin blocked the PAT attempt. Denver picked up the winning three points with 6:53 gone in the final period, then took advantage of three Kansas City turnovers in the last four minutes to preserve the lead.
