Terry Bradshaw hit 13 of 21 passes for a season-high 283 yards and three touchdowns and the Steelers held off a fourth-quarter rally to beat the Browns 35-31. It also was a season high point total for the 5-4 Steelers, who jumped into a first place tie with the Browns in the AFC Central. Touchdown runs of 2 and 18 yards by Rocky Bleier and Franco Harris, respectively, and a 38-yard scoring pass from Bradshaw to John Stallworth helped the Steelers to a 28-3 halftime lead. The Browns trailed 35-10 in the final quarter before backup quarterback Dave Mays combined with Larry Poole for three touchdown passes.
