Mark Moseley's 54-yard field goal with 3:41 Ieft in the game lifted the Redskins past the Eagles and kept Washington's hopes for a wild card berth alive in the NFC. The only score in the first half came on a Ron Jaworski-to-Tom Sullivan pass. Early in the third period, Joe Theismann hit Frank Grant on a 14-yard scoring play and the teams entered the fourth quarter deadlocked 7-7. The Eagles took the lead again on a one-yard run by Jaworski, but Theismann found Danny Buggs open in the end zone to tie the game and set the stage for Moseley's game-winning kick.
