Jim Hart hit Jackie Smith with a three-yard touchdown pass with 3:10 remaining to give the Cardinals a 24-17 win over the last of the NFL's unbeaten teams. Five-and-a-half minutes earlier, Hart threw a 49-yard scoring toss to Mel Gray to tie the game. Carl Allen preserved the win by intercepting a Roger Staubach pass with 1:57 left. Terry Metcalf's 18-yard burst up the middle helped set up Hart's winning pass to Smith.
