Theismann's touchdown strike came at the end of a 79-yard drive during which he hit Danny Buggs for 30 yards and then scrambled for 12 yards to set up the score. Chester Marcol kicked a 44-yard field goal with 4:16 left in the game to cut the lead to 10-9.
