Haskel Stanback scored two touchdowns on one-yard plunges to lead the Falcons to a 17-0 victory. It was the Buccaneers' 25th consecutive loss since entering the NFL as an expansion team. By shutting out the Buccaneers, the Falcons increased their chances of breaking an NFL defensive record set by Minnesota in 1969 when the Vikings allowed only 133 points. The Falcons permitted only 83 points through their first 11 games.
