Pat Haden threw a 43-yard touchdown pass with just 2:10 remaining to give the Rams their fifth straight victory and fifth consecutive divisional title. Lawrence McCutcheon became the Rams' all-time leading rusher, gaining 97 yards to surpass 1,000 yards in a season for the fourth time in his five-year career. McCutcheon, who has carried the ball 1,219 times, surpassed the old record of 1,218 held by Dick Bass, now a radio broadcaster for the Rams. Ken Stabler had put the Raiders on top 14-13 on a 21-yard pass to Dave Casper. Haden hit Harold Jackson for the winning TD. The loss knocked the Raiders out of contention for the AFC Western Division crown.
