A pair of field goals by Chester Marcol and Barty Smith's one-yard touchdown run gave Green Bay a 13-0 lead, but the Packers had to fight off a late rally by the Lions to preserve the victory. The Lions drove 44 yards in eight plays with Dexter Bussey scoring on a five-yard run with less than two minutes left in the third period. However, the Lions failed to capitalize on good field position on its next possession. Rick Kane dropped a pass while all alone at the Green Bay 3 with 10 minutes remaining.
