NFL game summary for 10/22/1978:



A record crowd at Tampa Stadium saw Doug Williams pass for two touchdowns and run for another to lead Tampa Bay over Chicago. Roland Harper scored on a two-yard run to give Chicago a 16-13 lead early in the third quarter. Tampa Bay came back with Williams capping a 72-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run, his first as a pro. Midway through the fourth quarter Williams threw his second touchdown pass of the day, hitting Morris Owens with a 40-yard strike. Johnny Davis scored the Buccaneers' final touchdown on a three-yard run that was set up by Dave Lewis' second interception of the game.
