Buffalo notched its third win and first shutout of the season by beating Cincinnati. Tom Dempsey's 20-yard field goal early in the second quarter gave the Bills a 3-0 lead. The Bills' final two points came in the fourth quarter when Dennis Law was tackled in his own end zone on a punt return. Curtis Brown became the first Bills' running back of the season to rush for 100 yards in one game, carrying the ball 18 times for 100 yards. The victory gave Buffalo three straight home wins, while the Bengals suffered their ninth straight loss over two seasons, a club record.
