Glen Doughty caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Bill Troup to lift Baltimore past Denver. Trailing 3-0 in second quarter, the Colts took the lead when Denver linebacker Tom Jackson deflected Troup's pass into the arms of Doughty. Denver had a chance to pull the game out but Jim Turner's 27-yard field goal attempt with eight seconds left in the game was blocked by Colt defensive tackle Mike Barnes.
