Fran Tarkenton threw three touchdown passes to lead Minnesota past Green Bay. Tarkenton hit Chuck Foreman with a 16-yard scoring pass to give the Vikings a 7-0 lead early in the second quarter. After Green Bay's Terdell Middleton tied the game at 7-7 on a three-yard run, Tarkenton completed a four-yard touchdown pass to Ahmad Rashad to give Minnesota a 14-7 halftime lead. The Vikings added an insurance score in the final quarter on a 15-yard pass from Tarkenton to Rashad. Tarkenton completed 26 of 43 passes for 262 yards to become the first NFL player to go over 45,000 career passing yards (45,143).
