Sherman Smith ran for two touchdowns and Seattle's defense intercepted four passes as the Seahawks surprised Oakland. David Sims capped a 10-play, 61-yard drive with a two-yard touchdown plunge that gave Seattle a 7-0 lead. Smith's two touchdown runs and field goals of 32 and 42 yards by Efren Herrera lengthened the Seahawks' lead to 27-0 at the end of the third quarter. The Raiders' lone score came in the fourth quarter on a 22-yard pass from Ken Stabler to Cliff Branch.
