This win made Oakland's John Madden only the second modern-day head coach in NFL history -- Don Shula was the first -- to record 100 regular season victories in his first 10 years. Art Whittington rushed for 134 yards on 26 carries and Ken Stabler directed fourth quarter drives of 76 and 75 yards for the Raiders, who beat the Chiefs for the eighth straight time. Oakland's Mark van Eeghen gained 43 yards and moved into third place on the club's all-time rushing list behind Clem Daniels and Marv Hubbard.
