Bert Jones' three touchdown passes led the Colts to their second Monday night win of the season. Jones, still suffering from a shoulder separation incurred during the preseason, completed 10 of 19 passes for 191 yards. His 27-yard scoring pass to Roger Carr with 3:08 left in the game gave the Colts their margin of victory. The Redskins' final bid for the win ended with 42 seconds left in the game when Joe Theismann fumbled on fourth down at the Colts' 49 after being sacked by Joe Ehrmann. John Dutton recovered the fumble and Baltimore ran out the clock.
