Nick Mike-Mayer kicked a 39-yard field goal to give Philadelphia a 10-3 lead in the third quarter. Then with 44 seconds remaining in the period, New York's Kevin Long swept five yards for a touchdown. Pat Leahy tried for the extra point but the 6-foot 8-inch Carmichael jumped high and tipped the ball, which sailed under the crossbar and left the Eagles ahead by one point.
